Virgin Atlantic Reward Flights 50% Bonus Promotion
Virgin Atlantic reward flights are an interesting option at the moment for anyone looking to save money on flexible long-haul flight bookings, departing later this year.
The airline is offering a 50% bonus on Virgin Atlantic reward points, now known as Virgin Points and on tier points for status too.
Virgin reward flights are more accessible than ever, with Virgin Atlantic becoming the exclusive airline partner of Tesco Clubcard. As Reward Flight Finder previously reported, Tesco is currently offering a bonus award of 2,000 Virgin Points, when you auto-exchange your Clubcard vouchers with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club for the first time.
Better still, in these uncertain times, if you book Virgin reward flights, they are covered by Virgin Atlantic’s Covid-19 flexible booking policy. This currently states that, for flights up to December 31st 2021, you can make one name change and up to two changes to your travel dates free of charge. You can also rebook your travel for any date up to December 31st 2022. If the airline cancels or changes your flight, you get your Virgin Atlantic reward points back and a refund on any fees you’ve paid.
How Does The New Virgin Atlantic Offer Work?
For new reservations made directly with Virgin Atlantic, on flights they are scheduled to operate, you have until February 2nd 2021 to get a 50% bonus on both the Virgin Points and Tier Points earned.
The reservation must be for an itinerary where the last flight is taken by December 31st 2021. You don’t need to pre-register for the deal.
Unlike most other airlines, Virgin Atlantic has recently started awarding tier points, on flights booked with points. Reward flights do qualify for this promotion, so you could earn elite status within the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club faster, by redeeming Virgin Points for qualifying flights. You need 400 Tier Points in a membership year, to qualify for Silver and 1,000 Tier Points to gain a swanky Gold card. Among other perks, Flying Club Gold gets you and a guest access to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounge, whenever you fly with either Virgin Atlantic or Delta Airlines.
The value of this promotion depends on your circumstances. However, it does offer a faster route to the benefits of elite status, within Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. If you already have some Virgin Points or can take advantage of the enhanced Tesco Clubcard partnership, it could offer a cost-effective path to status too.
