Virgin Atlantic’s Points Booster

Virgin Atlantic Points Booster is one of the simplest ways to earn extra Virgin Points, which are becoming increasingly useful thanks to the Virgin Red programme. In fact, the Virgin Airlines Points Booster can be used on previous flights, future flights, and even reward flights.

Whenever you make a booking with Virgin Atlantic and their partner airlines such as KLM, Air France and Delta*, you’ll receive the option of boosting your points online, through your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account. Using the “Points Booster” is entirely optional but if you’re looking to increase your Virgin Atlantic points quicker this is a good way to quickly accumulate more Virgin Points.

*It’s worth noting that your Virgin Points earned with partner airlines may vary For further details and terms and conditions, you’ll need to check out the Virgin Atlantic website or those of the partner airline you plan to fly with).

Earning Virgin Atlantic Points

As a Flying Club member, travelling on Virgin Atlantic is the fastest and most straightforward approach to building your points. Factors such as your cabin class, ticket type and membership tier will affect the number of points you can earn from your flights. You can also earn Virgin Points through the Virgin Red programme or when you spend with a Virgin Atlantic credit card. You can exchange loyalty points from several other credit card schemes for Virgin Points too. In the UK this includes American Express Membership Reward Points and in the US, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi Thank You Points both allow you to convert their points into Virgin Points.

You can also purchase Virgin Points through your Virgin Atlantic account, but they might be pricey unless there is a special offer. Normally we don’t recommend this as points are less flexible than cash, their value effectively erodes over time and earning points generally works out to be better value than buying them. However, buying points can make sense if there is a special offer on and it can be a convenient option when you are super close to purchasing a Virgin Atlantic reward flight but don’t quite have enough points. To top up your points balance, use the Buy Points option, after signing into your Virgin Flying Club account, to get those Virgin reward flights faster. The added benefit of purchasing points is that you may redeem Virgin points for bookings on partner airlines as well.

Don’t forget! Tesco Clubcard points can be exchanged for Virgin Points too if you link your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account. Clubcard points may be earned on pretty much anything purchased in-store, and online at Tesco or their Clubcard partners.

The Virgin Atlantic Points Booster

So how does it work? For a fee, Points Booster allows you to earn extra points from your flights by doubling or tripling your earnings. Bonuses are occasionally available, allowing you to earn even more points for a reduced cost.

For example, You have the opportunity to use the Points Booster for a Virgin Atlantic flight booking from London to Los Angeles.

  • Boost your single flown miles: Get an extra 10,898 points for £108.98

Or

  • Double the flown miles: Get an extra 21,796 points for £217.96

Essentially, the Virgin Atlantic Points Boost allows you to buy points at prices that work out lower than even the normal special offers Virgin offers from time to time, for points purchases. The only caveats are that you can’t buy large quantities of points in the same way as you can when they’re on sale and you do still have to pay a few.

Points Boost does however allow you to earn more points from flights you have booked, by doubling or tripling your points earning, if you pay the fee. The standard maximum boost is double the flown miles, sometimes, there’s even a bonus, which offers even triple points for the same outlay.
